Recipe Ingredients for Lentil and Carrot Stew

3 cup (8 fl oz) Water
5 medium Carrots
1 cup Lentils, Mature Seeds
1 large Onions
1 stalk, small (5" long) Celery
1 oz Bay Leaves
1 tsp Salt, Table

Recipe Directions for Lentil and Carrot Stew

  1. Wash and drain lentils. Place in large pot with water, sliced onion, chopped carrots, chopped celery, bay leaves, and salt.

  2. Boil

  3. Reduce heat and cover

  4. Gentle boil for 45 minutes

  5. Remove lid and cook for a few more minutes to evaporate liquid

  6. Remove bay leaves

  7. Serve in bowls and garnish with cilantro leaves
