Betty Crocker's Original Lemon Bar Recipe

Recipe Ingredients for Lemon Bars

1 cup flour
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup powdered sugar
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp lemon juice

Recipe Directions for Lemon Bars

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Mix flour, butter, and powdered sugar.

  3. Press into ungreased square pan. (8x8x2 or 9x9x2)

  4. Bake 20 minutes on rack closest to heat.

  5. Beat remaining ingredients until light and fluffy. (About 3 minutes.)

  6. Pour mix over hot crust.

  7. Bake until no indentation remains when touched lightly in the center. (About 25 minutes.)

  8. Let cool and cut into 12 squares.
