Recipe Ingredients for Lemon Bars

2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup powdered sugar, sifted
3/4 cup butter
1/2 tsp. baking powder
4 eggs
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup lemon juice

Recipe Directions for Lemon Bars

  1. Combine 2 cups flour and 1/2 cup powdered sugar; cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly. Spoon mixture into a greased 13x9x2 inch pan; press firmly until crust is lightly browned.

  2. Combine remaining 1/2 cup flour and baking powder in a small bowl; stir well. Combine eggs, 2 cups sugar and lemon juice in a large bowl; stir in flour mixture. Pour mixture over prepared crust. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes or until lightly browned and set. Cool completely on a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar; cut into bars.
