Recipe Ingredients for leek and sausage quiche


WHOLE WHEAT PASTRY:
1 c. whole wheat pastry flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. oil
3 tbsp. cold water

QUICHE FILLING:
1 cup cheddar cheese
1 cup milk
3 eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/5 teaspoon pepper
1 large leek
1/2 medium onion
2 garlic cloves
4 ounces sausage

Recipe Directions for leek and sausage quiche

  1. Stir together flour and salt. Mix in oil until crumbly. Add enough water to hold together. Roll out on a floured board to fit a 9-10 inch pie pan. Crimp edges. Bake in 400 degree oven 10 minutes.

  2. Cook bacon and leeks. Place cheese, bacon and leeks in pie shell. Combine milk, eggs, salt and pepper. Pour into pie shell. Bake in a 350 degree oven 35 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Serves 6-8.
