Recipe Ingredients for Lebanese Rice

1 1/2 cups rice
1 1/2 ounces vermicelli, broken in small pieces (1/2 cup)
4 tbl butter
4 cups water
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp allspice
1/4 tsp cinnamon

Recipe Directions for Lebanese Rice

  1. Rinse the rice well. Brown the vermicelli and the rice in butter over medium-low heat, stirring frequently.

  2. When the pasta is evenly browned, add the water and spices and bring to a boil.

  3. Turn down the heat and simmer, covered, for 15 - 20 minutes or until the rice is tender.
