Easy, delicious treat can be used as cereal, sprinkled on yogurt, added to trail mix, eaten plain.... It's a staple in my house.

Recipe Ingredients for Lazy Granola

1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup honey
2 tsp vanilla
2 tsp cinnamon
7 cups oatmeal, old fashioned
1 cup almonds, chopped (optional)

Recipe Directions for Lazy Granola

  1. preheat oven to 375

  2. line a jelly roll pan with aluminum foil

  3. if adding almonds, chop finely and mix into oats in a large bowl

  4. combine sugar, oil, and honey in a saucepan and bring to a low boil

  5. remove from heat, stir in cinnamon and vanilla

  6. pour mixture over oats in large bowl and mix well to coat evenly

  7. spread on pan and bake for 10 minutes

  8. stir the mixture at 10 minutes, then turn oven off, leaving the pan in the oven overnight to cool.

  9. when cool, break/crumble granola and store in an airtight container.

  10. makes about 16 1/2 cup servings
