This is our favorite dinner. The vegetables are all in a package of California-blend mixed vegetables.

Recipe Ingredients for Lattice-Top Chicken Casserole

6 oz broccoli, frozen, thawed, and drained
6 oz cauliflower, frozen, thawed, and drained
4 oz carrots, frozen, thawed, and drained
2 cups chicken, cooked and cubed
10 3/4 oz cream of potato soup
1 cup milk
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup onions, fried
1/2 tsp salt
8 oz crescent rolls

Recipe Directions for Lattice-Top Chicken Casserole

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. In a bowl combine the vegetables, chicken, soup, milk, cheese, onions,, and salt.

  3. Transfer to a greased 13-in x 9-in x 2-in baking dish and bake uncovered for 20 minutes.

  4. While mixture is cooking, seperate cresecent roll dough into two rectangles. Seal perforations in dough and cut each rectangle lengthwise into four strips.

  5. After mixture has baked, quickly weave strips of dough over the warm filling, forming a lattice crust.

  6. Bake 15 minutes longer or until crust is golden brown.
