Traditional meat lasanga with whole wheat noodles and lower-fat ingredients. Tastes great!

Recipe Ingredients for Lasangna

1 lb whole wheat pasta
52 oz sauce
1 1/2 lb 90% ground beef
15 oz part-skim ricotta
1/4 cup skim milk
1 egg
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 cups shredded mozzarella

Recipe Directions for Lasangna

Cook lasanga noodles and ground beef ahead, set aside. Mix ricotta, milk, egg, salt, pepper together in medium bowl. Layer in 13x9 dish, sauce, 3 noodles, 1 Tspn ricotta mix per noodle, sprinkle beef, sprinkle shredded mozz, spread sauce, noodles, etc. On top layer just noodles and sauce. Cover. Cook at 350 degrees for 40 minutes, uncover, cook 10 minutes more. If adding mozzeralla slices on top, add now and put back in for 5 minutes. (I add slices on kids's portion only). Can prep ahead of time and refrigerate for 2-3 days prior to cooking. Add 10 minutes to cook time if cold from frig.
