Recipe Ingredients for Lance's Grandma's Cornbread Recipe

1 1/2 cups cornmeal
3 tbsp whole wheat flour
2 cups buttermilk
2 tbsp canola oil
1 egg
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder

Recipe Directions for Lance's Grandma's Cornbread Recipe

  1. Pour a bit of oil into a cast iron skillet and heat on the stove.

  2. Whisk together cornmeal, flour, salt and baking powder. Add buttermilk, oil, and egg and whisk until mixed.

  3. Pour into hot cast iron skillet and cook until the batter starts to bubble. Place in 425 degree oven until golden on top and batter is cooked.
