Recipe Ingredients for Kung-Pau Chicken

2 tbsp water
1 tbsp hoisin sauce
1 tbsp reduced sodium soy sauce
1 tbsp chili paste
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp reduced sodium soy sauce
1 tbsp cornstarch
600 g chicken breast
1 tsp sesame oil
1/8 cup egg white
1 clove garlic
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 clove garlic
1/2 tsp ginger root
78 g carrot
78 g red pepper
78 g green pepper
1 tbsp sesame oil

Recipe Directions for Kung-Pau Chicken

  1. Sauce: Stir first five ingredients in small cup until smooth. Set aside.

  2. Stir second amount of soy sauce into second amount of cornstarch in medium bowl until smooth.

  3. Add chicken, sesame oil, egg white and garlic. Mix until chicken is very well coated.

  4. Heat wok or frying pan until hot. Add cooking oil. Add garlic, ginger and carrot. Stir fry for 1 minute.

  5. Add next four ingredients. Stir fry for one to two minutes until peppers are tender crisp. Transfer to medium bowl.

  6. Add second amount of oil to hot wok. Add chicken mixture. Stir immediately to break up chicken pieces. Stir-fry on medium heat for about three minutes or until chicken is no longer pink. Stir sauce. Stir into chicken mixture until boiling and thickened. Add pepper mixture. Heat and stir until peppers are coated and mixture is heated through.

  7. Serve with noodles
