Korean Bulgogi Chicken Stir Fry Recipe

Bulgogi is a traditional Korean marinade for grilling meats. I have adapted this recipe into more of a stir fry. You can add what ever your favorite stir fry veggies are. You can also use steak instead of chicken.

Recipe Ingredients for Korean Bulgogi chicken stir fry

5 tbs soy sauce
2 tbs sesame oil
2 tbs brown sugar
1 tbs chopped organic garlic
1/4 cup chopped organic green onions (about 4)
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp corn starch
1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast (cut in 1 inch strips)
1 cup chopped organic carrots
1 cup chopped organic celery
1/2 medium organic onion (cut in strips)
1 1/2 cup organic rice
3 tbs canola oil
1 tbs extra virgin olive oil
3 cups water

Recipe Directions for Korean Bulgogi chicken stir fry

  1. 1. combine soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, green onions, and garlic (warm slightly for sugar to blend in better)

  2. 2. cut chicken into thin one inch strips

  3. combine marinade to chicken let stand for at least half an hour

  4. 3. cut up onion, carrot, and celery (any other veggies you like)

  5. 4. fry veggies in a little oil and a dash of soy sauce for 3-4 minutes set aside

  6. 5. using a strainer drain chicken mixture (save marinade for sauce)

  7. 6. In wok on high heat add remaining oil stir fry chicken

  8. 7. When chicken is almost cooked through add veggies

  9. 8. whisk corn starch to marinade adding 1/4 cup water

  10. 9. Add marinade mixture to chicken and veggies (If it is too thick just add water or broth to thin out)

  11. 10. Serve over cooked rice

  12. Making rice (in a skillet (medium high) add olive oil, stir in rice till coated, add 3 cups water bring to boil reduce heat to low cover cook for about 15-20 minutes turn off heat when no water is visible (NEVER STIR once water is added)
