essentially middle eastern meat balls...this meal is off the chain good.!!! Serve with flat bread, rice, and cracked wheat salad. I found this recipe on http://www.ummah.net. I changed up the amount of oil also the koftas can be baked instead of fried.

Recipe Ingredients for Kofta Mlebissa

1 pound beef
1 large chopped onion
3 tbsp rice, basmati
1/2 cup chopped parsley
1 tbsp mint
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp cinnamon
4 eggs
1/2 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup oil, peanut

Recipe Directions for Kofta Mlebissa

  1. Wash the rice add to the meat with the parsley, onion, mint, spaces and salt. Mix thoroughly. Take a small piece of the mixture and roll into a ball between wet palms; place in a pan. Continue until all the mixture is used. Pour half a cup of warm water over the koftas, cover the pan and cook over low heat until the rice is soft. Remove from heat and leave aside until cool. Mix the eggs with the flour, baking powder, a pinch of salt and half a cup of warm water. Mix to batter. Heat the oil, dip the koftas in the batter, place in hot oil and fry until golden brown.

  2. Actually your going to need about 2 cups of oil...for recipe purpose the koftas only consume about 1/4 cup of oil after cooking
