Slightly Sweet and spicy these walnuts go great on salads, poached pears, ice cream, or just as a snack. (recipe from Reese Sea Salt container)

Recipe Ingredients for KLD Candied Walnuts

1 lb Walnuts, whole
1/2 c powdered sugar
1 tsp sea salt, Reese fine
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Recipe Directions for KLD Candied Walnuts

  1. Add walnuts to 3 C boiling water, stir and return to a full boil. Drain nuts and mix with powered sugar, sea salt, and cayenne pepper in medium mixing bowl (mixture will have a sticky consistency). Spread out on a lightly greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 F for 20 - 35 minutes or until dry and crunchy.

  2. Watch the nuts closely while baking as they will burn quickly.

  3. I like to stir them every 10 minutes while they are baking. After 20 minutes, I turn down the oven heat to 250.
