As title says, plus I added onions and ham to it.

Recipe Ingredients for King's Old Fashioned Vegetable Soup (with extras)

1 cup split peas
9 cups water
300 g lean ham
1 onion
1 spring onion
1 clove garlic
1 teaspoon virgin olive oil

Recipe Directions for King's Old Fashioned Vegetable Soup (with extras)

  1. Saute the onions in the oil until clear, and add garlic, ham, water and peas.

  2. Bring to the boil, and simmer for about an hour.

  3. Serve with crusty bread when peas are cooked and soft.
