A sweet and sour take on a polish classic. Note: Cooking times are guesstimates.

Recipe Ingredients for Kielbasa and Apple Sauerkraut

14 oz turkey kielbasa, cut into 1 inch round
32 oz sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
1 large onion, chopped
2 medium apples, cored and diced
1/2 cup apple juice
2 cup water

Recipe Directions for Kielbasa and Apple Sauerkraut

  1. Chop apples and onions. Apples may be peeled if desired.

  2. Mix kielbasa, sauerkraut, onion and apple together in crock pot/slow cooker or large pot.

  3. Mix apple juice and water.

  4. Pour mixture over contents of crock pot/slow cooker or large pot.

  5. Cook on low for 6-8 hours if in crock pot/slow cooker. Cook on medium-low heat for 1.5 to 2 hrs if in large pot.

  6. Add more water (or juice) if necessary.
