Crispy wheat squares replace the usual bread crumbs in this meatloaf, which can be baked in mini-loaf pans for individual servings

Recipe Ingredients for Kids Favorite Meatloaf

1/2 cup ketchup
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp mustard
1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 egg
1 tbsp whole milk
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1 1/2 cups wheat chex
16 3/10 oz 90/10 ground beef, yield from 1.5 lbs raw

Recipe Directions for Kids Favorite Meatloaf

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ketchup, brown sugar and mustard and mix well.

  2. Remove 4 Tbsp of this mixture and reserve for later for the top of the loaves.

  3. To the mixture in the bowl, add the Worcestershire sauce, salt, onion, garlic, egg, milk and ground black pepper and mix together well.

  4. Stir in the wheat cereal squares and let stand for 5 minutes.

  5. Break up the cereal squares and add the ground beef, mixing well.

  6. Shape the mixture into the loaf pans.

  7. Bake @ 350 degrees for 65 minutes, brush on the reserved ketcgup mixture and bake another 15 minutes.
