Boiled mixture of Gram and rice fried in oil.

Recipe Ingredients for Khichadi

1 cup Shellouts Cut Green Beans and Dry Shelled Beans
1 cup rice
2 tsp oil
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp black mustard seed

Recipe Directions for Khichadi

  1. heat oil in a pan

  2. add mustard seeds, heat until they split

  3. add turmeric, chilli powder and salt

  4. immediately add rice and gram (washed and kept ready)

  5. stir until uniform

  6. boil / pressure cook until soft
