Kale cooked in chicken broth with added vegetables and cubes of ham.

Recipe Ingredients for Kay's Kale Creation

8 oz. chopped fresh kale
1/2 large onion, chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons cooking sherry
4 ounces diced ham
4 ounces chopped carrots
1 teaspoon chicken bouillon
1 stalk celery, chopped
1 dash of cayenne pepper
1 cup water
1 ground pepper

Recipe Directions for Kay's Kale Creation

  1. Saute onion and celery in olive oil. Add water, chicken bouillon, and carrots. Let simmer while kale is cleaned and chopped. Add kale and put lid on pot. Steam the kale for around 5-10 minutes. Add ham, seasonings, and sherry. Stir. Cook another 10 minutes, until kale is tender.

  2. Can add bay leaf and/or minced garlic if additional flavoring desired.
