Recipe Ingredients for Kathleen's pie crust from scratch

1.33 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup shortening
3 tbsp cold water

Recipe Directions for Kathleen's pie crust from scratch

  1. mix the flour, salt, and shortening dry. Don't add all the flour. Save some out for rolling the crust on the counter.

  2. While stirring, slowly add the water. You need to know the texture needed for the crust. Stop adding water when the dough is the right texture. Roll flat, lay on 10" pie tin, cut off extra. Use the extra, if you wish to create a tiny pie crust on the side.

  3. Can be refrigerated.

  4. Do not bake until the other pie ingredients are added
