Recipe Ingredients for Kari-Jo's English Muffins

4 cups flour
2 1/2 tsp yeast
1/2 tsp baking soda
4 cups warm water
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 egg whites
1/8 cup corn meal

Recipe Directions for Kari-Jo's English Muffins

  1. In large bowl add water, yeast, baking sada and 2 cups flour. Mix and set aside for a few minutes.

  2. Beat egg whites - stiff peaks

  3. Add to dough batter.

  4. Add rest of flour and the salt gradually until hard to blend.

  5. Turn out on floured surface and knead for 5 min.

  6. Set aside to rise until double.

  7. Roll out dough to 1/2". Cut 4" circles. Set aside for 40 - 50 min.

  8. Heat griddle to 350 degrees. Griddle muffins 4 min on each side - do this twice.

  9. Cool and enjoy
