Crockpot Applesauce - Warm and Delicious

Recipe Ingredients for Kara's Homemade Applesauce

1/2 cup water
8 small apples
1/4 cup sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
2 tbsp lemon juice

Recipe Directions for Kara's Homemade Applesauce

  1. Add 1/2 cup water and lemon juice to crockpot.

  2. Add 8-10 small apples (water will not cover apples).

  3. Cook on low heat about 6-8 hours or high heat about 4-6 hours. (Depends on how soft or mushy you like your applesauce. I like mine a little tart and chunky.)

  4. About 1 hour before your ready to eat, add the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg or which ever spices you prefer.

  5. For extra cinnamon taste, add red hots half way through cooking.
