Recipe Ingredients for Kaetlyn's Spicy 3 Cheese Whole Wheat Pizza

90 ml warm water
1 package dry yeast
1 teaspoon honey
3/4 cup whole wheat flour
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon bread crumbs
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1/2 tablespoon cayenne pepper
2 teaspoons oregano
125 grams mozzarella cheese
45 grams provolone cheese
25 grams grana padano cheese

Recipe Directions for Kaetlyn's Spicy 3 Cheese Whole Wheat Pizza

  1. Pour water into a medium bowl. Pour in yeast and mix with fork until dissolved. Stir in honey. Let sit for 6-8 minutes or until creamy looking.

  2. While waiting, measure out 3/4 cup whole wheat flour and 1/4 (not the whole 1/3 cup) cup all purpose flour in another bowl. Use a fork to mix the two flours together. Stir in the salt.

  3. When the yeast is ready, pour the flour into the bowl. Begin mixing with fork. When the dough starts coming together, add some of the extra flour to the dough. Add extra flour as needed. Kneed dough until elastic (usually only 5 minutes or so). Form into a ball, make a small cut in the top and cover with a damp cloth. Let sit for about an hour.

  4. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

  5. Pour 1 tbsp olive oil onto a pizza pan and distribute evenly. Sprinkle bread crumbs over the oil. Roll dough out onto the pan. Drizzle the other 1 tbsp of olive oil over the dough. Spread with brush if desired.

  6. Place pan in oven for about 10 minutes, or until the dough starts to turn golden brown.

  7. While waiting, add the garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and oregano to the pizza sauce.

  8. Take pizza out of the oven. Pour spicy pizza sauce over pizza. Add cheeses.

  9. Place back in oven until cheese is melted.
