A thick, hearty stew that'll warm you up on cold, winter days.

Recipe Ingredients for Kaa's Hearty Stew

1 lb ground beef
1 lb ground turkey
1 lb bison, cooked
16 oz frozen mixed vegetables
16 oz frozen baby lima beans
6 cups chicken broth
6 cups beef broth
1 tbsp salt
1 tbsp pepper
1 tsp italian seasoning
3 cloves garlic
1 med onion
3 stalks celery
3 tbsp butter
30 oz of tomatoes
1 lb potatoes, cubed

Recipe Directions for Kaa's Hearty Stew

  1. Add all broth and tomatoes to very large pot and put on high heat.

  2. Add frozen vegetables.

  3. Melt 3 Tbsp of butter in a skillet. Lightly sautee the celery and onions until the onions are translucent and slightly brown and the celery is soft. Add pressed garlic cloves near end. Add to pot.

  4. Brown ground beef (preferably sirloin) in same skillet. Drain as much fat as possible, then add to pot.

  5. Brown ground turkey in same skillet. Drain as much fat as possible, then add to pot.

  6. Add bison chunks to same skillet. Brown on each side lightly. Remove from skillet, add to pot.

  7. Allow whole thing to come to a boil then turn down to simmer.

  8. Cut up potatoes into equal-size chunks and add to pot.

  9. Continue to simmer until potatoes are done.

  10. Salt, pepper, season to taste.

  11. Freezes and reheats extremely well.
