These are delicious, but heavy - you will feel like sleeping for the rest of the day if you eat more than one!

Recipe Ingredients for Joy of Cooking - Buttermilk Waffles

1 3/4 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tbsp sugar
2 large eggs
1 3/4 cup buttermilk
6 tbsp butter

Recipe Directions for Joy of Cooking - Buttermilk Waffles

  1. Combine dry ingredients.

  2. Melt butter, lightly beat eggs, and combine wet ingredients.

  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients with a few short, swift strokes (batter should be lumpy, like muffin batter)

  4. Make waffles!
