Spicy tomato based sauce for pasta. Good starting point for other variants of this sauce with or without chillis.

Recipe Ingredients for Jon's Easy Arrabiata

1 medium onion, diced
500 g passata
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
2 tsp oregano
2 g dried chilli
1 clove garlic
1 Vegetable Stock Cube
200 g dried pasta

Recipe Directions for Jon's Easy Arrabiata

  1. Heat olive oil in saucepan.

  2. Finely chop onion and saute gently until transclucent before adding garlic.

  3. Add the passata, dried oregano, bay leaves, mixed herbs, veggie stock cube and worcestershire sauce. Stir well.

  4. Simmer gently on low heat for about 10 minutes then add the dried chilli's to taste.

  5. Simmer gently to allow the sauce to reduce so that a clear space can be seen when the spoon is drawn across the base of the pan.
