Recipe Ingredients for John's Cheese Pizza (Donut recipe crust)

2 1/2 c flour
2/3 c 1% milk
4 g yeast
1 T butter
1 T sugar
1/2 t salt
1 egg
3 oz pizza sauce
8 oz mozzarella cheese

Recipe Directions for John's Cheese Pizza (Donut recipe crust)

  1. Heat 1/6 c. milk to 100F, stir in yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, heat rest of milk to 100F, melt butter, and mix these together and add the sugar and egg.

  2. Combine the two liquid mixtures. Stir in the flour and salt. Knead for a few minutes or use an electric mixer with dough hook. Form the dough into a smooth ball, and place in a container sprayed with vegetable oil. Spray some oil on the dough also. Cover loosely and keep in a warm place for 1 hour.

  3. Roll out the dough onto a pizza pan or baking stone. Add sauce/cheese and any desired toppings, and bake at 500 for 12 to 15 minutes, or when cheese begins to brown.
