No one is sure of the origin of Joe's Special. It has been a staple of San Fransisco restaurants for at least two generations.

Recipe Ingredients for Joe's Special

0.5 serving ( 3 oz ) Beef, Ground, 95% Lean Meat / 5% Fat, Crumbles
1 slice, medium (1/8" thick) Onions
1 eggs Egg, Scrambled
2.5 oz Spinach
0.5 oz Mushrooms

Recipe Directions for Joe's Special

Brown beef well in oil in a large frying pan over high heat. Add onions and mushrooms; reduce heat and continue cooking, stirring occasionaly, until the onion is soft. Stir in seasonings and spinach for about 5 minutes longer. Add eggs; stir mixture over low heat just until the eggs begin to set. Enjoy!
