Recipe Ingredients for JoeGee spaghetti and meatballs

1 tbls olive oil
2 cloves garlic
1/4 cup onions
12 oz tomato paste
1/4 tsp garlic powder
14 oz stewed tomatoes
1 tsp basil
1 tsp thyme
1 tsp oregano
1/4 cup brown sugar
12 oz water
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/2 cup egg beaters
2 pounds extra lean ground beef
1 1/2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp basil
2 tsp thyme
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp garlic salt

Recipe Directions for JoeGee spaghetti and meatballs

  1. Chop garlic and onions fine place in cooking pan with olive oil. Cook garlic/onion over low heat until onions are tender. Note: High heat will burn garlic.

  2. Add tomato paste and increase heat to medium. Stir in garlic powder. Cook until tomato paste caramelizes (make sure not to burn). This should take about 5 minutes.

  3. Add the next six ingredients. Allow to simmer for about an hour.

  4. Preheat oven to 400 degrees

  5. In a separate bowl combine bread crumbs and egg beaters. Stir together and let sit until bread crumbs have absorbed all the moisture.

  6. In a large bowl combine ground beef, onions, basil, thyme, garlic powder, and garlic salt. When bread crumb mix is ready also add it. Mix all ingredients by hand until well incorporated. With a 2 tbls measuring spoon scoop out meat mixture and roll into balls placing on a well oiled rack. Bake at 400 degrees till done. Then add to spaghetti sauce and allow to simmer for another hour
