I use chipotle peppers in adobo sauce from Stop & Shop which is very spicy. If you use fresh or plain peppers you will need to add cayenne pepper to taste. I serve chili over bed of lettuce, top with fat free breakstones sour cream, salsa and cheddar cheese (I like Cabot 75% Reduced Fat)...my husband like it with fritos!

Recipe Ingredients for Jody's Chili

1 pound ground beef
2 cloves garlic
198 g chipotle peppers
794 g diced tomato
439 g black beans
1 onion

Recipe Directions for Jody's Chili

  1. brown meat

  2. drain fat

  3. saute onions

  4. add meat and veggies

  5. season with chili powder, salt and black pepper

  6. simmer 1 hour or more
