Recipe Ingredients for Jill's Tuna Melt

70 gram bagel
3 ounces tuna
56 grams (2 slices) Tillamook cheese
1/3 cup carrots, grated and then diced finely
1/3 cup broccoli stem, grated and then diced finely
1/3 cup onion, diced finely
1/3 cup celery, diced finely
1 teaspoon mayonnaise

Recipe Directions for Jill's Tuna Melt

  1. Split and toast the bagel

  2. While bagel is toasting, dice veggies and place in bowl

  3. Combine tuna and mayo with veggies

  4. Spoon half on each side of open bagel (Depending on size of bagel [smallish, Lender-sized bagel used in recipe] you may have more filling than will fit on bagel; pile high but not so high it will touch heating element in toaster oven.)

  5. Cover with a slice of cheese on each bagel half

  6. Place in oven on 350 or toaster oven on 300 until cheese melts and bubbles on top. (May need to use broil for a minute or two in larger oven.)

  7. Serve hot.
