This is a super easy and very tasty pasta dish.

Recipe Ingredients for Jez's Spaghetti Carbonara

1 lb whole wheat spaghetti
1/4 lb bacon or lean salt pork, diced
1/4 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon basil
1 cup Parmesan cheese
3 eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 teaspoon pepper

Recipe Directions for Jez's Spaghetti Carbonara

  1. Cook spaghetti according to package directions.

  2. Meanwhile, saute bacon over low heat until crisp.

  3. Beat eggs.

  4. Add cheese to beaten eggs.

  5. Drain spaghetti and return to pot; toss with egg mixture while spaghetti is still hot. Stir in bacon, bacon drippings, spices, and pepper. Mix well.

  6. Serve.
