Recipe Ingredients for Jerusalem Post Pareve Cholent

3/4 cup navy beans
3/4 cup pinto beans
3/4 cup chickpeas
3 cups mushrooms
3 tbsp. olive oil
3 cups onions
8 tsp garlic
14 oz diced tomatoes
1 tsp. dried thyme
1 tsp. dried oregano
3 tsp cumin
2 tsp turmeric
3/4 cup barley
2 cups carrots
1 pound potatoes
8 c water
2 cups broth

Recipe Directions for Jerusalem Post Pareve Cholent

  1. saute onions, garlic and spices in oil. Add other ingredients except eggs.

  2. bring to boil and simmer 20-minutes

  3. rinse eggs and place on the surface of the cholent, push just under surface of the water.

  4. put in low oven overnight
