Recipe Ingredients for Jelly's Homemade Granola bars

2 cups oats
1 cup sliced almonds
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut
1 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup flax meal
230 g cherries
4 tbsp butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt

Recipe Directions for Jelly's Homemade Granola bars

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Stir the oats, almonds, pecans and coconut together, pour into a cookie sheet and toast in the oven for 12 minutes.

  3. Place toasted mixture into a large bowl and set asside.

  4. In a saucepan, stir the butter, brown sugar, honey, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon and salt until the mixture comes to a boil. Stir constantly over low heat for one minute.

  5. Remove from heat.

  6. Pour boiling mixture over toasted nuts and oats, stir in sunflower seeds and dried cherries. Pour into buttered 9x13 pan and bake for 25 minutes in a 325 degree oven, or until the sides begin to turn golden brown.

  7. Remove from oven, let cool in pan for 2 hours. Remove from pan and cut into 16 even rectangles.
