Japanese "traditional" favorite -their interpretation of an English version of an Indian Curry!

Recipe Ingredients for Japanese Curry Rice

0.13 cup Wheat Flour, White, All-purpose, Enriched, Bleached
2 tbsp Butter
3 tsp Garam Marsala
1/4 tsp Cayenne
1.5 Teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
0.5 tbsp Ketchup
1 1tsp Olive Oil
1 large Onions
1 carrot (7-1/2") Carrots
2 cup (8 fl oz) Water
2 cup chopped raw Yukon Gold Potatoes

Recipe Directions for Japanese Curry Rice

  1. Heat oli in large saucepan and adding slide onions. Saute until they are caramelized (30 mins)

  2. Add onions and water & bring to a boil.

  3. Skim off foam and simmer until potatoes are soft

  4. For the Roux, melt the butter over medium heat

  5. Add flour and gram masala, stirring until you have a thick paste

  6. Add cayenne pepper and some fresh ground black pepper and incorporate into the roux.

  7. Add ketchup and tonaktsu sauce and combine

  8. Continue to cook until the paste starts crumbling.

  9. Remove from heat and set aside until the vegetables are ready

  10. To make the curry, ladle about 1 cup of the liquid into the roux, then disk unlit it's smooth

  11. Add mixture back into the other pot and store until thickened.

  12. Add peas and heat through.
