Recipe Ingredients for Jane's Oven Fried Chicken (beef) Chimichangas

1 c. picante sauce
1 t. cumin
3/4 t. dried oregano
3 c. chicken
2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
3 green onions
6 flour tortillas (8 inch)
3 T. melted butter
6 T. sour cream

Recipe Directions for Jane's Oven Fried Chicken (beef) Chimichangas

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Have extra: picante, green onions & sour cream for serving

  3. 1. Mix chicken (or beef brisket), picante, cumin, oregano, cheese, and green onions.

  4. 2. Place flour tortillas on a plate and place 2 damp paper towels over tortillas. Place in microwave for approx. 1 minute or until soft.

  5. This makes rolling tortilla much easier.

  6. 3. Place about 1/2 c. above mixture in the center of one tortilla.

  7. 4. Fold opposites sides over filling

  8. 5. Roll up from bottom. Place seam-side down on baking sheet.

  9. 6. Brush with melted butter

  10. 7. Bake at 400 degrees 25 minutes or until golden. Garnish with picante, green onion & sour cream
