4 spring onions1-2 red chilis2 cloves of garlic2cm piece of ginger1 tsp Chinese five-spice2 tsp cornflour900ml vegetable stock200g sugar snap peas200g dried fine egg noodlesSoy sauce (to taste)

1 medium (4-1/8" long) Onions, Spring Or Scallions
1/2 peper Hatch Chiles
1 tsp Ginger Root
10 grams Five Spice
1 serving Vegetable Stock
1/2 cup Sugar Snap Peas
1 cup Rice Noodles, Cooked

Recipe Directions for jamie oliver's noodle broth

  1. Now start the broth by heating a little olive oil in a saucepan on a medium heat. Trim and slice the spring onions and the red chilis and then place them into the pan.

  2. Crush two garlic cloves into the saucepan.

  3. Peel and grate the ginger into the saucepan and fry for a few minutes.

  4. Place a frying pan on a low heat, then add a splash of olive oil and the cashews. Toast them until they start to colour.

  5. Stir in one teaspoon of Chinese five-spice and three teaspoons of cornflour to the pan containing the broth. Don't be alarmed if everything looks a little dry.

  6. Add the vegetable stock and sugar snap peas then turn up the heat. Once the broth is boiling, taste it and add extra soy sauce if necessary. Add the noodles then put a lid on the saucepan and boil for another five minutes.
