Recipe Ingredients for Jambalaya ? with Smoked Andouille

4 serving Royal Basmati Rice
6 serving (Thomas)Smoked Andouille Sausage
8 oz Diced Ham
1/2 cup Tomato Puree
15 oz Chicken, Thigh, Meat Only
1 cup, chopped Onions
1 cup, diced Celery
1 cup, chopped Peppers, Sweet, Green
2 cup, chopped or sliced Tomatoes, Red, Ripe
3 tbsp 67% Buttery Spread
1 cup Soup, stock, chicken, home-prepared
9 tsp Magic Seasoning Blends - Poultry

Recipe Directions for Jambalaya ? with Smoked Andouille

  1. Melt butter in a 4-quart saucepan over high heat.

  2. Add sausage and ham; cook until meat starts to brown, about 4 to 5 minutes, stirring and scraping pan bottom frequently.

  3. Add chicken and continue cooking until chicken is brown, 4 to 5 minutes, stirring frequently.

  4. Stir in cup each of onion, celery and bell pepper.

  5. Cook until vegetables start to soften, 6 to 8 minutes, stirring frequently.

  6. Stir in tomato puree, Cajun seasoning, and cayenne (may need a little stock too); cook about 1 minute.

  7. Stir in the tomatoes, stock, and rice; mixing well.

  8. Stir in remaining onion, celery, bell pepper; mixing well.

  9. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally.

  10. Reduce heat to very low and cover; simmer until rice is tender; about 20 - 30 minutes.

  11. Let stand uncovered 5 minutes before serving.
