A German dish of fried pork cutlets with a white wine mushroom gravy.

Recipe Ingredients for Jaeger Schnitzel

4 piece,+cooked,+excluding+refuse Pork
1/2 cup Flour
1 large Egg
1 cup Dry Breadcrumbs
6 tbsp Vegetable Oil
1 lb Brown Mushrooms
1 large White Onion
1/2 cup Dry White Wine
1 1/2 cups Fat Free Sour Cream
1 Salt and Pepper to taste

Recipe Directions for Jaeger Schnitzel

  1. Trim and clean cutlets

  2. Pound cutlets to 1/4 t0 1/8 inch thickness

  3. Cover pounded cutlets with plastic wrap and set aside

  4. Peel and slice Onion into rings

  5. Clean and slice or halve Mushrooms

  6. Heat 2 Tbsp of Oil in a large skillet on medium heat

  7. Sauté Mushrooms and Onions in skillet until Onions are golden brown

  8. Add White Wine to skillet

  9. Reduce heat to low

  10. Stir Sour Cream into skillet mixture

  11. Add Salt and Pepper to taste

  12. Cover skillet and leave on low heat

  13. Spread Flour on a dry plate or cutting board

  14. Beat Egg in large shallow container

  15. Spread Breadcrumbs on another dry plate or cutting board

  16. Heat 4 Tbsp of oil in a large pan on high heat

  17. Flour one cutlet on both sides

  18. Flip floured cutlet in Egg

  19. Cover Egged cutlet heavily in Breadcrumbs

  20. Fry cutlet until browned (2-3 minutes per side)

  21. Salt lightly while frying

  22. Place cooked cutlets on paper towels to drain oil

  23. Repeat process for each cutlet
