Recipe Directions for Italian Turkey Sausage Penne Pasta

  1. Place a carton of cherry tomatoes in bottom of microwave safe casserole dish. Mince garlic cloves and chop basil and add to dish. Cover and microwave on high for 4 minutes. Pull out and mash the broken tomatoes, being careful to not be splattered by hot juices. Add chicken broth and pasta. Cover dish, return to microwave and cook on high for 10 min. Pull out, stir completely, return to microwave and cook another 3 minutes. Continue to check for doneness of pasta by checking every 2 minutes. While pasta is cooking, brown Italian sausage then cut into smaller pieces. I peel the skin off the links, before I cook.

  2. When the pasta is done, add sausage to pasta. Add grated parmesan cheese and stir completely until cheese is mixed and melted through. Serve hot
