Italian Turkey Meat Loaf Recipe

Originally from the back of a Progresso bread crumb package and made with ground beef -- this uses ground turkey breast. Add 1/2 chopped red, green, or yellow pepper if your family likes that.

Recipe Ingredients for Italian Turkey Meat Loaf

1 1/2 lb turkey breast, ground, Walmart extra lean
1 cup 1% milk
1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1/4 cup egg beaters
3/4 cup dry bread crumbs
1/4 cup onion, chopped
1/4 cup barbecue sauce

Recipe Directions for Italian Turkey Meat Loaf

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees

  2. Mix all ingredients except barbecue sauce

  3. Spread mixture in an ungreased 8.4 or 9.5" loaf pan. Spread barbecue over the top

  4. Insert oven-proof thermometer so tip is in center of loaf. Bake uncovered 1 to 1 1/4 hours or until beef is no longer pink in center and thermometer reads at least 160-degrees

  5. Let stand 5 minutes; remove from pan
