Recipe Ingredients for Italian style meatloaf

3 1/2 lbs 90% lean ground beef
1 c parmesan cheese
4 eggs
2 c bread crumbs
1/2 c parsley
1/2 c basil
1/4 c oregano
15 oz tomato sauce
4 oz tomato paste
14 oz diced tomatoes
3 T garlic powder
2 T basil
2 T parsley

Recipe Directions for Italian style meatloaf

  1. Preheat oven to 400F

  2. Mix the meat with eggs, cheese, breadcrumbs and spices. Mix by hand until thoroughly combined.

  3. Place in a baking pan and mold into a large log.

  4. Mix the tomato sauce, paste and diced tomatoes together. Add 2T basil and parsley along with 3T garlic powder. Mix to combine. Cover the meatloaf with the sauce.

  5. Cover the pan with lid or aluminum foil. Place in the oven. This should take between an hour and an hour and 20mins, or to an internal temperature of 160F. Pull out of the oven and let set for 5minutes before slicing.
