Yet another variation on quiche, with sausage and gouda.

Recipe Ingredients for Italian Quiche

0.334 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 cup, chopped Onions
1.5 cup cherry tomatoes Tomatoes, Red, Ripe
1 serving Bell Pepper Flakes
1 tsp Pepper, Black
0.5 tablespoon Oregano
0.13 cup Cornmeal, Degermed, Enriched, Yellow
8 oz Hot Italian Sausage
0.13 cup TVP
3 oz Cheese
1/4 cup Fancy Mild Cheddar Shredded Cheese
4 medium Egg, Whole

Recipe Directions for Italian Quiche

  1. Preheat oven 375 degrees F.

  2. Warm oil in a pan on medium heat.

  3. Add onions and cook until almost soft.

  4. Add tomatoes, and cook until well cooked.

  5. Add peppers, oregano, and cornmeal, mixing well.

  6. Spread in the bottom of a greaed pie pan.

  7. Brown sausage in crumbles. Add TVP. Spread on top of tomato mixture.

  8. Slice gouda thinly and layer on top of sausage.

  9. Sprinkle cheddar over gouda.

  10. Blend eggs and milk.

  11. Gently pour over cheese, making sure it coats the tomatoes and meat.

  12. Bake until well set, about 30 minutes.
