I love this as its a way to get protein (lentils are really high in it) without having to deal with the bean taste

Recipe Ingredients for Italian lentil stew

29 oz Tomato Products
3 oz Mushrooms Sliced
3 oz sliced black olives
2/3 cup dried lentils
1 tablespoon canola oil
1/2 onion
4 oz Frozen Mixed Pepper Strips

Recipe Directions for Italian lentil stew

  1. cook the onion and peppers with the oil until clarified

  2. add the rest of the ingredients spiced to taste and simmer for 45 minuts

  3. Simmer the lentils in a separate pan with a 3 to 1 water to lentil ratio until they are tender, drain and add to the completed sauce.

  4. Serve over your choice of starch (i like a chopped up baked potato plain)
