Stuffed bread. Vary by adding shaved meats or sweet fillings-when it comes to the filling stage shake some ground cinnamon and thinly chopped dark chocolate, follow the recipe to the end.

Recipe Ingredients for italian Bread Roll

7 g yeast, active dry
1 tbsp sugar
250 ml water, tepid
1 tsp salt
350 g flour, plain
1/4 cup olives, sliced
20 g Sun-dried tomatoes, sliced
2 tsp oregano, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
50 g mozarella, grated
50 g parmesan, grated

Recipe Directions for italian Bread Roll

  1. In a bowl dissolve the yeast and the sugar in half the water. Leave for 10 minutes till it starts to froth.

  2. Add the rest of the water and the salt.

  3. Stir in the flour, use hands when it becomes more solid.

  4. Turn out onto a floured surface and knead for 5-7 mins until smooth.

  5. Shape into a rough ball. Score the top deeply and place in a warm dry place to double in size, about 40mins.

  6. Grease and flour a loaf tin.

  7. punch the air out and roll to about 1/2in-1in thick, and as wide as the loaf tin - doesn't have to be exact.

  8. Spread minced garlic over the top of the dough, then the cheese, then scatter the other things you want to add on top of that.

  9. When you've put everything you want to in the bread take one end and roll up as tightly as you can without pressing in or stretching the dough.

  10. Place into loaf tin tucking the side ends under and having the edge along the side of the tin or underneath the loaf.

  11. Leave to prove again, another 40 mins.

  12. Be very careful not to bang around when you put it on the oven as you'll knock the air out.

  13. Place in preheated oven 220C for about 25mins. Tap the bread, it should sound hollow when it's cooked.

  14. Slice and eat.
