start in bread machine, finish in oven.

Recipe Ingredients for Italian Bread

1 cup water
2 tablespoon canola oil
3 cups bread flour
2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 oz active dry yeast
3 tbsp egg whites

Recipe Directions for Italian Bread

  1. Put all ingredients in breadmachine in order suggested by manu. Start dough cycle.

  2. After dough cycle is complete, let rest for 10 minutes. Then shape into 12in long loaf. Let rise for 20-25minutes.

  3. Preheat oven to 375. Cut either one long lengthwise slit in bread or 3 diagonal cuts on loaf. Brush with egg whites. Bake until done, around 25-30 minutes.
