7 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
3 cups raisins

8 tbsp butter
4 cups buttermilk
3 eggs

Recipe Directions for Irish Soda Bread

  2. Mix together first 6 ingredients in a very large bowl or cooking pot.

  3. Cut in the softened butter with a knife.

  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the buttermilk and eggs. Save 1/4 of this mixture and set aside for brushing over loaves. Incorporate leftover mixture into the larger bowl.
