Easy oatmeal that is an instant hit in the mornings!

Recipe Ingredients for Irish Slow Cooker Oatmeal

3/4 c steel cut oats
3 c water
36 gram chopped dates
30 gram dried sliced apples
1 T butter
3 T brown sugar
6 oz half and half

Recipe Directions for Irish Slow Cooker Oatmeal

  1. Put oats, water, dates, and apples into a 1 1/2 qt slow cooker. Cook overnight (8-9 hours) on low (or 7-8 hours on Auto), stirring once during the last hour. Turn off cooker and let sit for app 15 min. Scoop 1/3 of contents into a cereal bowl. Add a small pat of butter, the tablespoon of brown sugar, and a packet of non-caloric sweetner of choice. Still until butter and brown sugar are melted and dispersed. Add half and half; stir gently; enjoy!

  2. Divide the remaining oatmeal and store in two 16-oz glass storage containers. When needed, microwave for 2 minutes at full power.
