Recipe Ingredients for Irish Scones

18 tbsp Willow Run Soybean Margarine
5 1/2 cup Wheat Flour, White, All-purpose, Enriched, Unbleached
1 cup Sugars, Granulated
12 tsp Baking Powder
1 1/2 cup Milk, Reduced Fat, Fluid, 2% Milkfat
1/2 cup Fat Free Plain
1 1/4 cup Zante Currants
1 large Egg, Whole

Recipe Directions for Irish Scones

preheat oven to 325. Add a few drops of lemon juice to milk to sour it. Cut the butter into little pieces. Add flour, sugar and bakin pwdr. Blend until texture of coarse cornmeal. Mix the sour milk and yogurt together and add to sour mixture and mix with a fork. Turn out onto a lightly floured board and pour currants over and begin to knead. Divide the dough into 4 equal parts. Pat each into a circle, 1 inch thick and cut into 8 pie-shaped pieces. place on lightly floured baking sheet and brush with beaten egg. Bake approx. 15 minutes until golden brown.
