A rice-lentil-vegetable preparation.

Recipe Ingredients for Indian Khichdi

1/4 cup rice
1/4 cup lentils
1/4 tsp ghee
1/4 cup carrots, diced
1/4 cup zucchini, diced
1/4 tsp salt
3 black peppercorns
1/8 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/4 tsp turmeric
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Recipe Directions for Indian Khichdi

  1. Directions

  2. 1.heat ghee in a pot

  3. 2.add cumin, peppercorns and cloves.

  4. 3.saute till they pop

  5. 4.add the rice and lentils, coat with the oil

  6. 5.add the veggies and peanuts

  7. 6.add 3 cups of water

  8. 7.add the turmeric, cayenne and salt

  9. 8.cover and bring to a boil

  10. 9.let it simmer for 15 minutes
