Recipe Ingredients for Impromptu Fried Rice

2 tablespoons canola oil
4 green onions
1 red bell pepper
1/2 pound asparagus
1/2 cup green peas
2 cups bean sprouts
5 cloves garlic
1 tablespoon ginger
3 cups brown rice
2 eggs
1/4 cup stock
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups cooked chicken
1/4 cup cilantro leaves

Recipe Directions for Impromptu Fried Rice

  1. Put 1 tablespoon oil in skilley over high heat

  2. add onions and bell pepper, stirring till brown; add to bowl with sliced vegetables

  3. stir fry peas and bean sprouts for about a minute; add to bowl of vegetables

  4. add remaining oil to pan followed by minced garlic and ginger; ccok for a few seconds then add cooked brown rice a bit at a time

  5. make a well in the center of the rice and scramble the eggs then stir them into the rice

  6. return the cooked vegetables to the pan and fold until combined

  7. add the stock and cook for a minute

  8. add the soy sauce and sesame oil

  9. add cilantro and serve
